I went to Rexburg Nature Park to find a subject for a full and partial cutout. I used a Sony digital camera to capture this moment in time. I wanted to have a picture of a duck facing the camera in order for the cutout to look good.

Duck cutout
Using a combination of selection tools in Photoshop, I cut out the image of the duck and placed it on a white background. This will allow people to use the image on any background if they wanted to.
Picnic Time

Using the Sony digital camera, I captured a picture of this outdoor table.
PicnicTable; 27April2010; 1pm; Rexburg Nature Park; SonyDSC HX1; f2.8; 10/5000 second.

Using the lasso and magnetic lasso I selected the top of this picnic table in order to put it on a partial blank background. If someone were to buy the photo they would have the opportunity to place it on any kind of background or add text, etc., to the picture.

The duck cutout is great! You went around it well and it looks profession. I especially love the expression on the ducks face! Priceless! On the picnic table I would probably get closer to the table on the top so you can't see the grass going around it.
ReplyDeleteI like the duck as well, but I would probably have cut out a little more by the tail so you don't have the straight edge going down the back. Those ducks are pretty crazy, they started chasing me and my husband once. Way to capture the angry expression
